The go-to amp for forward-thinking versatility, unrestrictive sound sculpting and rugged design, Roland’s latest Cube is better than ever, introducing the Roland Cube-20GX Guitar Amplifier.
Three Independent Channels
The Roland Cube-20GX Guitar Amplifier is seriously versatile with three channels (JC Clean, Lead, Solo) arming you for any musical genre.
- JC Clean replicates the coveted sound of the JC-120, and gives you an independent volume control.
- Lead gives six tones to choose from: Extreme, Metal Stack, Metal, Distortion, Overdrive & Acoustic Simulator. This channel has independent gain and volume controls.
- Solo is a fully programmable channel, which lets you store your settings from the JC Clean and Lead channels, along with any assigned EQ and effects, to be recalled on demand.
Each of the above can be selected either from the front panel switches or with the Boss FS-5U or FS-6 footswitches (sold separately).
Effects Section and Tuner
With three individual effects sections, comprised of EFX, Delay and Reverb, getting the sound you want from the Roland Cube-20GX is easy. What each effect section has to offer is outlined below:
- EFX: Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Tremolo, Heavy Octave
- Delay: Warm, Clear
- Reverb: Spring, Plate
In addition to all these effects, the amp is also equipped with a 3-band EQ and an onboard chromatic/manual tuner.
Built-In Interface for iOS Devices
Fitted with Roland’s i-Cube Link interface, the Roland Cube 20GX Guitar Amplifier allows you to fully integrate your iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) into your playing, with the included cable. This addition provides two-way communication between your device and the amp, so you can play music tracks stored on the device through the amp, play along with them using the amp’s tones and effects, and record the results on a recording app.
Even if you don’t have an iOS device, the i-Cube Link is still useful as it also acts as a simple stereo input, allowing you to plug a music player or audio device into the Roland Cube-20GX, to play backing tracks through the speaker.
Roland Cube Jam
With the Roland Cube 20GX Guitar Amplifier allowing you to hook up an iOS device, Roland have developed a free app, Roland Cube Jam, which makes jamming, recording and learning easier.
Your favourite songs and minus-one tracks can be played through the amp via Cube Jam, you can play along with all the amp’s tones and effects, and record your session with just one touch. Once recorded you can alter the volume of your playing and the backing track independently and export the results to a 16-bit, 44.1 kHz WAV file.
Used with the Roland Cube-20GX, the Cube Jam app is also a powerful learning tool, with the ability to alter the speed and pitch of audio playback and its Centre Cancel function that allows you to remove solos.
